Valentine's Day

For Valentine's Day... the school created a special postage system so that anyone in the school could deliver valentine's to anyone else. Each classroom had an address and we had a giant "mailbox" in the library for people to put their valentines. On the Friday before Valentine's day, the 2nd graders delivered all the valentines to each class. It was a fun way for the whole school to give valentines. I ended up taking home a whole box of cards and candy... TONS of candy... I guess thats one of the benefits (or curses, depending on how you look at it) of teaching every student, not just one class. We also had a Valentine's Day bento contest which was really cool because we got to see some of the mom's creative sides. The contest was to see who could make their child's bento the most decorated for Valentine's Day, and some of them made some pretty cool things out of rice, hot dogs, pizzas, and other food.
