My very first Christmas concert as a music teacher went off as a success... the kids were adorable and remembered all the songs and most of the lines... :) I was so proud of all of them, and even myself a little bit. We split up the concerts so that they were on two nights - Monday and Tuesday with the Preschool through 3rd grade on Monday and 4th through 6th grade on Tuesday. It worked out well for the most part but I think we are going to do a combined concert for the Spring. Here are some pictures and a video with highlights from the concert.
Preschool through Kindergarten singing Away in a Manger
"Who are you supposed to look at during the concert???" "MISS JESSHKA!" - this was drilled into their heads for weeks before the concert. I gave them every hand motion... they did great, except when I messed up. :)
Mary and Joseph singing a duet... they did great, even though they had costume malfunctions and came in halfway through the song.
wise men and shepherds... besides almost knocking down the choir mic, they were great. They were very well behaved during the concert, which is more than I can say for them during rehearsals... glad they pulled it off!
:)
enjoy the video!
